Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, Plant Scryer and the services it uses receive standard technical information when you load a page: your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to keep the site running, measure which guides are useful, and protect the site from abuse.

The Plant Finder tool sends the options you select to the site’s server to return matching plants. Those selections are not linked to your identity or stored in a user profile.

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Plant Scryer does not set its own cookies for tracking, but the third-party services described below do. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site works normally without them, though ads may be less relevant.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and block malicious traffic. Page content is managed in Sanity, which does not receive visitor data.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK, and California, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, or to object to its use for personalized advertising. Because Plant Scryer does not collect names, emails, or accounts, most of this data is held by the third parties above, and their opt-out tools linked above are the way to exercise those rights.

Children’s Privacy

Plant Scryer is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
