I grew up in a family of landscapers and arborists. Much to my dismay, weekends meant getting up early to plant things. I still don’t know how my dad found room for new plants every single week, but there was always mulch to put down and holes to dig.
Background
My family runs a landscaping and arborist business. I eventually joined an installation crew, which meant doing exactly what I grew up “loving” — planting plants. What it actually gave me was a solid education in how plants survive in the real world: soil conditions, drainage, root health, and what separates a plant that thrives from one that quietly fails.
After that I ran my own succulent business, growing and selling them. Most of what I know about propagation came from doing it at volume. You figure out fast what works when you have a lot of cuttings to move.
Why Plant Scryer
Most plant care content online is too generic to be useful. I built Plant Scryer to give people the specific, practical information that actually helps — the kind that comes from working with plants, not just writing about them.
